Administrator guide

Following is a guide to the role of the EPS administrator, and includes an outline of the role, support, and the process for implementing the EPS.

The Administrator's role

The internal school administrator role is critical to the success of the EPS use within a school. The school administrator should ideally be a person from the senior management team, preferably with some level of confidence with the administration of ICT systems.

The school administrator’s key roles include:

  • Liaison with the external facilitator
  • Liaison with staff and school community, and management of the survey
  • Configuring of survey to meet local school needs
  • Coordinating participation in the key phases of the EPS process (illustrated below)
  • Modifying the survey to suit the local school context, including the establishment of sub-roles for participants
  • Distributing the URL and access code to all staff, and informing them of the end date for completing the survey
  • In consultation with other senior staff, arrange for any staff information sessions as appropriate
  • Distributing the ‘instructions for use’ sheets to all staff
  • Regularly checking in the administrators area of the EPS website for numbers of respondents, and sending out reminders to staff where necessary
  • Accessing the final report and online feedback and distribute to senior management and staff as decided by the school
  • Providing feedback to the EPS team about any issues or concerns that may require attention.
